Hemorrhoids Home Remedy

Before we can even begin to discuss how hemorrhoids are treated by home remedies, it's imperative to know what they are. To start, hemorrhoids are piles of infected, swollen and inflamed veins that are typically located around one's anus. However, they are not limited to the outside of the body. Some individuals can have internal hemorrhoids, as well. Some of the things that can cause hemorrhoids include, but are not limited to the following: anal sex, aging, strain while going to the bathroom, and pregnancy. Symptoms include itching, discharge, bleeding, and pain.

Give Your Skin a Drink. The first and easiest way to achieving a home remedy for hemorrhoids would be by applying moisturizer. Make sure the moisturizer you use just isn't any kind of lotion, as it needs to be strictly for hemorrhoids only. If you don't, stinging or infection could results from using the wrong type of moisturizer. The reason why moisturizer is so important is so that the hemorrhoids themselves can stay hydrated, since one of the most common causes of hemorrhoids to begin with is dehydration.

Heat Up And Cool Off. Another simple yet effective home remedy for hemorrhoids is by using ice and heat. Approximately 8-10 minutes a day, you would start by taking an ice cube and applying it to the hemorrhoid itself or the surrounding anal area. After you've done that, you should take a towel, run it under hot water, and apply it to the hemorrhoid for 15 or 20 minutes. The combination of the ice and heat together not only shrinks the size of the hemorrhoid, but also allows enables it to start the healing process.

Make Fiber Your Friend. A final home remedy for hemorrhoids would be in changing your diet. It sounds complicated, but it's really not. Incorporate more vegetables into your diet, and the more green they are, the better. Also, try getting in some more fiber and water. Inadequate amounts of either one of these can result in constipation, which can easily make hemorrhoids worse.
